THE READING ROOM / VOL. 01

Beyond the
final reel.

Four films. Several impossible worlds.
No sensible reason to leave before the interval.

Cosmic melodrama ✦ 1950s

A cosmic wheel. A missing scientist. A heroine who refuses to wait on Earth. Our opening feature ventures into the Bollywood that might have been.

Serpent fantasy ✦ 1960s

Beneath the jewels and lightning lies a wonderfully inconvenient question: who gets to call a promise a curse?

Temporal romance ✦ 1960s

A romance told out of order, with a family secret that refuses to stay in the past.

Interstellar spectacle ✦ 1970s

An interplanetary epic where the fleets are vast, the loyalties complicated and no peace treaty is complete without an encore.
